SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE includes features, newsbriefs, columns, calendars and
commentaries that empower, enlighten and entertain African Americans in Durham, Orange,
Granville, Vance and Person counties. SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE is distributed free of
charge in African American churches in the five counties, in addition to SPECTACULAR
MAGAZINE being available at cultural centers, colleges, bookstores, coffee shops, retail
outlets, hotels and restaurants. Subscriptions may also be purchased.

Each month SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE has features articles on African Americans in the
community based on that issues’ theme (see editorial theme calendar). Some of the features are
about those considered to be movers and shakers and some are about lesser known individuals
but making a difference in their own way. They are always stories that need to be told.

With a mission to empower and enlighten African Americans in Durham, Orange, Granville,
Vance and Person counties, SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE includes columns written by
local residents that provides information in areas such as health, social justice, legal issues,
entertainment and self-motivation. Thought-provoking commentaries are also be included.

SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE encourages the submission of photos from your event,
meeting, banquet, anniversary, party, vacation, etc. for inclusion in the ‘OUT & ABOUT’
section. Good quality photos should be sent to photos@spectacularmag.com or mailed to P. O.
Box 361, Durham, NC  27702. A stamped self-addressed envelope should be included if
photo is to be returned.

SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE, launched in November 2004 as SPECTACULAR
ENTERTAINMENT GUIDE, will continue to include the popular ‘ON THE TOWN’ and
‘FOR YOUR INFORMATION (FYI)’ sections that serves as a guide for readers looking
for a night on the town or family oriented activities. To submit information about your event or
activity, email it to calendar@spectacularmag.com by the 15th of the month.

‘REJOICE’, a new section introduced in April, is expanding to include worship and praise
opportunities and special services (outside of regular church services) in the distribution area
and beyond. Churches are encouraged to submit their monthly or entire year’s listing of special
services by the 15th of the month to SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE at
rejoice@spectacularmag.com. (The Editor reserves the right to make final decisions on
inclusion of any submissions.)

SPECTACULAR MAGAZINE reaches over 95,000 readers in Durham, Orange, Granville
and Person counties monthly based on a circulation of 10,000 copies. Each copy of a monthly
